A BANS Story

One of our most successful users (who is also a moderator of the BANS community forum) is a guy from lower Alabama in Florida called Dave (Soggy on the community forum). He began using BANS during 2007 and has since built up a solid four figure monthly income which is still rising.

This is his story...

"My eBay affiliate journey started way before I found the BANS product.

I am a self taught webmaster and have been designing websites for myself and others for quite a while. I dabbled off and on with affiliate programs and picked up a few nickel and dimes along the way.

In late 2006, early 2007, I noticed that a few websites I stumbled across had listings of eBay products on them. I knew it had to be some sort of affiliate program of some sorts so I started to research it out.

I first came across a PHP script for sale on eBay and bought and installed on a domain I had lying around. It worked OK, but was very crude and included no content management platform. I still tinkered off and on for a few weeks with it and knew I needed something else better.

In early February I stumbled across the Build A Niche Store website. I do not remember how exactly I found it, but being a profound user of Google, I am sure that it showed up in a search result. I knew the moment I saw it that it was my next step to take.

I immediately set up a store and was on my way to conquer the world. Now let me say that my website optimization for websites was very poor at the time as well, but sometimes pigs do not know that they stink. My first 3-4 months sucked as I was just thumping it on the head and batting it back and forth and playing with it.

Like most newbie’s I did not trust that it really worked. It got to where I even stopped checking stats and I went on to other projects. Around the 5 month mark, however, checks started to arrive in my mailbox. I then realized what a moron I was and went back and recommitted myself to the BANS system.

At the same time I started to read everything I could get my hands on as far as search engine optimization and increasing website traffic. At the time I was running a small Chamber of Commerce and spent long, long nights building more stores and optimizing older stores.

Then it happened. One of my first stores started ranking well and along with some link trades with like websites, traffic poured in. Checks started to get bigger and I was making money everyday. I built more and more stores and delved even deeper into search engine optimization.

I left my job in late 2007 and now work full time from home. I am obsessed as ever with BANS and started my own Build A Niche Store information blog in January 2008. It takes a good 6 months for the light to come on. Some get it quicker, some slower.

BANS will open your eyes to how affiliate marketing should be done and you can apply these principles in other programs as well.

The reason we asked Dave to come forward with his story is because we know the position he has reached and we know the ups and downs that he has been through to get there.

BANS is a long-term strategy with the aim of building up sites which generate income for the future. This isn’t to say that if you’re already a talented marketer that you won’t be able to use the platform BANS provides and some direct traffic strategies (like PPC) to make real money very quickly but that a site (or collection of sites) which produce $30, $50 or $100+ a day over a year results in a much better return than a short-term “money-making” strategy which nets you several hundred dollars tomorrow and nothing the day after.

It’s all about research, development and marketing...research a market, develop a site of value and couple it with a marketing strategy that over the long-term will get it (and hence the eBay listed products it contains) in front of a larger and larger share of your target market.

This is how you succeed as an eBay affiliate and have, as a consequence, a portfolio of income producing niche stores below you and hence the freedom to develop more, learn more and make more.
